TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Indiana University, Bloomington Analytical or Bioanalytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Indiana University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in any area of analytical or bioanalytical chemistry beginning August 2012. A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is required, and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a visible, externally funded research program and teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants should send a complete curriculum vitae and summary of future research plans. Also, applicants should arrange to have four letters of recommendation forwarded to the Department. Applications completed by November 1, 2011 will receive full consideration, but review will continue until the position is filled.

Director of Biological Mass Spectrometry
Indiana University, Bloomington

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Chemistry seek outstanding applicants for the position of Director of Biological Mass Spectrometry. This is a non-tenure track position to be filled at the Associate or Senior Scientist rank, effective January 1, 2012. A Ph.D. in Chemistry with an emphasis in biological mass spectrometry and multiple years postdoctoral experience are required; the salary is commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with tenure-track faculty and existing leadership in the IU Mass Spectrometry Laboratory and IU Proteomics Facility to coordinate the expansion and integration of mass spectrometry-related resources associated with the METACyt Biochemical Analysis Center and the Center for Glycomics and Glycoproteomics. The Director will mentor postdoctoral and bachelor’s-level associates and oversee a mix of service-based and project-based activities while developing new collaborations both on and beyond the IUB campus in the areas of glycomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Opportunities for developing training curricula or new courses are available if the candidate so desires. The deadline for receipt of applications is October 1, 2011.
